The holiday shopping rush is on, but don’t forget about yourself. You’ve been good all year too! Here’s what’s new. For a complete list check out New Arrivals.

One of our favorites, TOMS Shoes founder Blake Mycoskie, took home the People’s Design Award at this year’s National Design Awards Gala in New York City. The People’s Design Award is a special honor because the winner is chosen by the public, and the nominees are pulled from every design discipline. The recent trend has been to reward innovative, socially and environmentally conscious design.

Considering Blake created TOMS Shoes to help children in poverty, taking gold isn’t a surprise to us. For every pair of TOMS Shoes sold, Blake Mycoskie donates a pair to a child in need. Initially, the focus was the children of Argentina, but TOMS Shoes plans to include Africa, Asia, and eventually the world. We encourage you to buy them in every color! Try the metallic in gold and silver to commemorate Blake’s win!

Happy Holidays from Tobi Style Scout! Tobi Style Scout is your roving style eye hitting the streets in search of the freshest looks and inspired outfit ideas. No professional models or photographers, just locals wearing it well on the sidewalks, at work, out on the town.
San Francisco’s climate this time of year is typically fickle so you can’t put all your eggs in a faux fur lined parka. If it's not cold enough to count on that luxurious winter coat to make your outfit, focus on smart layers, details and accessories! Here are six style savvy examples of how it’s done:
Emil’s fedora is a playfully chic complement to his skinny jeans. If the sun breaks through, he can easily shed the jacket and rely on his denim vest to compliment his sweater polo.
At work, Douglas frames the details of his avant-garde button-down with a contrast white belt. The shoes are unique, a footwear aficionado's one-of-a-kind find.
Black comes to life with splashes of color. Let your accessories become the focal points of your outfit with camel boots, gold shades and a rainbow scarf.
Sunglasses and boots are smoldering, add some mood counterpoint with hooded jackets, fun plaids and basic white tops.

It looks like we’re finally getting a taste of winter weather. You may be all bundled up and toasty but unless you’re dressed for subzero your face is still exposed to the harsh elements. Give your delicate skin some extra attention as the season gets colder and drier by treating yourself with a Malin + Goetz Detox Face Mask.
It goes on as a gel, but within a few minutes transforms into a luxurious cleansing foam. The revitalizing sensation of the foam on your skin will make your old masks feel stale. You can really feel it working! The Detox Face Mask comes in a subtle almond scent that’s pleasantly relaxing.
Another reason we love this mask is for its oil controlling properties. Some masks sap so much moisture in the process that they dry out your skin, triggering the overproduction of oil. The Detox Face Mask will leave your skin clean, soft, smooth, hydrated and balanced.
The directions say you can just wipe it off, leaving a thin layer on for extra moisturizing but we recommend washing it off with water.

As of last week, the brand at the top of our must-get list got crossed off. Attention, attention, we now carry Opening Ceremony for men and women!
Opening Ceremony started as an edgy NYC boutique best known for their unique assortment. Mixing coveted, renowned designers with a healthy dose of “I love it, who is it?” Opening Ceremony’s collection is inspired by the inclusive, international spirit of the Olympics. Owners Carol Lim and Humberto Leon make it a point to globe hop in search of talented designers that would otherwise go unnoticed stateside. They choose a country to feature for the year, travel there and pick local designers that appeal to their taste and sense of style, fancying uniqueness above all else. This fondness for imaginative design is tangible in their private label too, also named Opening Ceremony, which features basics with unexpected twists and innovative detailing. Opening Ceremony transforms standards and makes them feel very personal and one of a kind. Take a look…

Stay tuned, we are trying to get a hold of the Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony! We’ll keep you posted.

Hey Uppercut fans, if you’re wondering where your favorite urban outerwear went, the brand is taking a little hiatus. We spoke with Mike (Uppercut designer) on the phone and got this update:
“Due to unforeseen circumstances beyond our control, we will not be able to deliver Uppercut collections for fall 2007 or spring 2008. We appreciate everyone’s support and hope they continue to look for us in fall 2008.”
Wow. We hope everything is okay. We tried to dig deeper but that’s all they were willing to share. Stay tuned! In the meantime, we’ll have to find our subway issue outerwear elsewhere. If you’re looking for a fill in, give Spiewak a look.
Every time we put this Rachel Pally Full Tie Tube Dress on we find new ways to wear it! As a conventional halter, sweetheart strapless, cross front halter, or twist tie halter, this versatile frock is a must-have closet and suitcase space saver that you can tie up sexy or sweet. Comes in Cardinal, Midnight, and Lipstick Ink Blot.
If you’ve found a new way to wear it, let us know!

It seems like we're getting boxes faster than we can open them! There's a ton of new stuff for you this week. A new trench just in time for the wet weekend, a must-have ankle boot, an exciting new San Francisco designer, jeans that come with a charm bracelet, and some fun socks! There’s a lot more where this came from in New Arrivals!

Have you heard the news? Citizens of Humanity bought Goldsign back in September. That’s a headline by itself, but in the acquisition, they also picked up Goldsign founder and denim guru Adriano Goldschmied. That’s a blockbuster! While we don’t expect a revamp of an already successful formula, we’re keeping our eyes peeled for a fit tuning and the integration of Adriano’s signature washes.
If that wasn’t enough to get excited about, Citizens of Humanity is giving away a free charm bracelet with purchase of any women’s denim. We only received 14 total so supplies won’t last long!
Wouldn’t it be nice if more designers blogged? It’s always best to hear about design and inspiration straight from the source, and now you can at Tobi! We’re thrilled to introduce the newest Tobi Editorial feature, From the Designer.
From the Designer will host a different designer every month. The featured designers will blog on Tobi throughout the month, sharing whatever they feel like—trend forecasts, industry insight, outfit ideas, family recipes, guilty pleasures, deep secrets. Okay, no promises on the secrets, but we’ll nudge them into spilling the beans! From the Designer interviews will feature your longtime favorites and introduce you to the buzzing up and comers you're dying to know more about. We'll cover the bases but keep it fresh, doing our best to avoid the cookie-cutter questions you already know the answers to. This month, the featured designer is Jesse Dorsey from Boyy. Stay tuned for Jesse’s blog this November.
Notice something different about Tobi? It’s not the hairdo, it’s the user interface! Our new look isn’t just prettier, it’s much easier to use. We listened to your suggestions and revamped the navigation. It’s clean, simple, and you'll find exactly what you want without excessive click-click-clicking. We want you to get lost in the site because you can’t get enough of the merchandise and content, not because you can’t find your way around!

Here’s a quick look at this week’s new goodies. Check New Arrivals for more!
