It's hard to find a summer dress without a vibrant print on it. And that's a good thing! Summer dresses are bringing colors to life with print stories. For sure, one of the biggest highlights this year was a guest appearance by the UK diva, soon to be diva of the universe. Remember when Leona Lewis showed up and absolutely brought the house down with her Mimi-esq, can-I-get-a-witness live performance of "Bleeding Love"? Well, there's a fashion trend that received tons of runway play and is just starting to set the summer scene on fire. Make room on your top 10 list for color bleeding and dip-dying, a.k.a. ombre and tie-dye!

Every summer is a summer of love as far as we're concerned. Colorful, easy and breezy boho is just what we had in mind for the sunny days ahead. Besides going perfectly with denim (Velvet Selita Top with denim shorts!), ombre and tie-dye lighten up drapey dresses and body-conscious pieces. Lover is a vintage style collection that infuses a bit of drama inspired by music, art and movies. Each collection tells a story with "a narrative and central character" according to Aussie founders Susien Chong and Nic Briand.

For Spring 2008, Lover takes blissfully romantic silhouettes and rocks them out with a little Hendrix riff in a collection titled Electric Ladyland (after the 1968 album from The Jimi Hendrix Experience). We're going to stop talking about summer like it's right around the corner because it feels like it's already here! If you waited to get your summer shorts, the heat is on now. For every pair of pants in your wardrobe, there's a cool shorts option. It's too hot for your acid wash jeans, so go with the Citizens of Humanity Sunset Denim Shorts. Skinny denim can get uncomfortable fast in the heat, but if you're determined to pull together your Avant Casual look, go with Blank's Skinny Jean Shorts. For most of us, every day is Bike to Work Day, but it was nice to see some new faces in the caravan.

Plaid is the most versatile trend going this spring. You can take the same plaid and dress it up for drinks, or keep it down low and laid back. From ska and flannel inspired checkers to Ivy League grids, there's an inclusive range of styles within the plaid trend, accommodating edgy, California casual, and preppy tastes alike.

The plaid trend also has the longest shelf life of all the spring trends. Even the brightest seasonal plaids can be extended and integrated into your cold weather wardrobe. When you buy plaid you're buying it to wear all year. But hey, it's still spring and summer is knocking! Hit the pool party in plaid shorts!

It's 94 degrees out today, is your skin ready? A common misperception of skin prone to the summer breakout is that it needs to be dried up to clear blemishes. Au contraire, the sun is already doing a great job of drying out your skin. What you really need is more moisture! Ironically, when the skin is over dried—a result of harsh cleansing, over exfoliation, too much medication—it begins to overproduce sebum (the skin's natural oil) to compensate, thus further clogging pores and leaving you susceptible to more breakouts. To break this cycle, start using a light moisturizer with SPF, for UV protection, to get your thirsty skin the moisture it desperately needs. Not all exfoliation is bad. Just the right amount helps slough off dead cells, so your skin can fully absorb the moisture you give it.

Even if you don't suffer from the occasional blemish, be sure to protect your skin from the intense summer sun with a good sunscreen and replenish with a light moisturizer (with SPF) every day. This applies to guys too!

Were you wondering what Stella McCartney was up to? We were! Apparently, she's been squeezing some travel in with family time because her newest creation—Stella McCartney for LeSportsac—is very travel and mommy friendly. It's understandable that she's determined to make life easier for the parent on the go after having her third child, Beckett, this past January. This isn't the same animal as the preppy staple that obnoxious frat boys have co-opted and popped to go with their upside-down, backwards visors. Thank goodness. The new fashion polo is contemporary, and wants nothing to do with inherited spoils, the damn yacht club or the smelly old boys network. The new polo represents the self-made man, and the exclusivity comes solely from modern fit, design detailing and fabric quality.

In the world of print and graphic tees, there are those you think are cool but wouldn't wear, and those you think are cool and would wear all the time. The latter describes Public Domain's awesome pop art print tees. Looking at the collection of prints collectively feels like a stroll through the Met or Tate Modern. Public Domain grabs inspiration from the likes of Warhol and Lichtenstein, and the modern art cool gives these tees a higher ceiling when it comes to dressing up. If you're going to wear a tee to a gallery opening, Public Domain would be right at home.

Spring is in full swing and the days are getting warmer—it's definitely tee time! Basic tees are always good staples to own in volume, but sometimes you need to turn up the volume and make more of a statement. Add some edge with print and graphic tees. Abstract, political, cutesy, obnoxious, subtle, witty, offensive, funny, anything goes really and that's the beauty of print and graphic tees.

The title of Iggy Pop and James Williamson's 1977 post-Stooges album, Kill City is also a brand of rock inspired casual for men and women. Taking a cue from Raf Simon's spring/summer runway ode to the windbreaker, designers are revisiting the nylon shell with fresh eyes and redefining the light jacket as an Avant Casual statement layer. Instead of just the standard drawstring anorak, we're seeing much more variety, in proportion and inspiration. Baseball jacket, bomber, full length, shiny, utilitarian, and motorcycle, retro are just a few styles of the new wind breaker.

How do you describe a collection that grabs all the hot trends from the European runways and makes them more approachable and everyday? "My new favorite" works! Designer Anna Son's collection delivers casual chic versions of all the looks we covet in glossies but can't do because of pricing or inaccessible fits. We like to think of Plastic Island as an accessibly priced conversion of runway to everyday. Lots of prints, candy colors, drape detailing and a very original origami take on the bow trend.

When you jump from a career in finance to fashion design, there must have been a serious epiphany while checking the ticker. Sean Monahan gave up picking stocks for portfolios and took up picking fabrics for Sea, his collection of sophisticated but cute and easy-to-wear dresses. Monahan describes Sea as “Vibrant, spontaneous and comfortable clothes that the customer will want to live in." His retro inspired dresses are adorable, with precision pleating and darting throughout. It all makes for detailing that's right on trend for spring.

From lemon yellow to burnt mustard, the color of sunshine is just the thing to brighten up spring and summer. Even on the cloudiest day, yellow will put a smile on your face and everyone around you!

You can ease into this color trend. If neck to hem yellow is too bold for you, add a little splash via accessories like a clutch, shades or a cocktail ring. Yellow flip flops are another upbeat spring option. Styling yellow is easy because it's great with black, white, grey, and every shade of indigo denim you own!

Before launching Rhys Dwfen, Los Angeles based designer Julie Kwon was the head knit guru for Vince's sweater division. While Vince is mass appeal and loved for simple but luxe everyday basics, Rhys Dwfen has a more endearing quality. Rhys Dwfen is just as easy to wear, but it's a collection you'll fall in love with, clothes that should and do, in the words of Kwon, "make impressions more memorable." She describes the Rhys Dwfen woman as "discriminating but never fussy...appreciates the pairing of simplicity and polished charm."
