There are infinite reasons to adore Italy—the food, the architecture, the history. We could go on and on. But of course what we love the most is the refined fashion, and Ennio Capasa's C'N'C by Costume National offers an exquisite example of cutting edge yet accessible Italian clothing.

After initiating his foray into the design world with Yohji Yamato, Capasa launched Costume National in 1987 and quickly gained recognition as one of the leaders of "new Italian design." His diffusion line C'N'C by Costume National targets a younger style set with street-ready pieces in his signature ultramodern sensibility.

With a healthy dose of polished edge, C'N'C by Costume National offers precise tailoring for the glam rock'n'roller. Ennio Capasa once described his own style as "radical chic" and we think his bridge collection delivers a shining interpretation in its artful balance of dark sheen and slim fit. Now if only we had a Vespa for riding off into the night.

Memorial Day kicks off the first unofficial summer getaway weekend, and our itch to hit the road may only be surpassed by our love for a great bag! Of course, we need the perfect carryall for our travels and our girl Rebecca Minkoff delivers with her signature piece, the Morning After Bag. The ultimate size for the jetsetter, this understated satchel strikes the right balance of functional and chic, and we love the warm hazelnut hue. Or, if you’re in the mood to lighten up for summer, Rebecca Minkoff offers the Morning After Mini Bag in sunny yellow. Both bags are versatile enough to go with all of your weekend wear, day or night.

Inspired by the conceptual daring of architecture and the organic beauty of natural formations, Shannon Nataf and Dimitry Tcharfas created Suh-Tahn to capture and communicate that raw design intensity. Drawing from both sources, the duo harnesses the language of lines and visual perspective into a dramatic collection with some of the most inventive and unexpected details we've ever seen! Suh-Tahn feels freshly pulled off the runway and one of a kind, but surprisingly, remains easy to wear. Suh-Tahn's unfiltered creativity and innovation will definitely make you happy if you're tired of cookie cutter mass market style.
The Back Drape Leather Jacket is a perfect example of Suh-Tahn's design originality. Look at how the H-back (How else would you describe it? We've never seen this before!) is filled in with a drapey silk mesh trim! Now that's a statement jacket.

For luxury you can feel good about, slip into a sensuous, eco-friendly frock from Beau Soleil. Named after designer Anne Salvatore Epstein’s favorite oyster, Beau Soleil promotes fair trade and labor, sustainability and the use of organic materials. Bamboo is a signature fabric, used alongside vegetable-dyed organic cotton, tencel made from eucalyptus trees, and recycled leather trim.
Epstein finds inspiration in Greek and Roman styles, fashioning soft and drapey pieces that are both sophisticated and utterly wearable. Plus, all garments are made by their friends who moved from Long Island to China to start a family-run factory under fair labor and fair trade practices. With the motto of “reduce recycle renew,” we’re proud to indulge in Beau Soleil.

*Get a free Beau Soleil Beau Bag ($44 retail value) with purchase of any Beau Soleil dress at Tobi! Offer expires 5/27/08, while supplies last.

It's hard to find a summer dress without a vibrant print on it. And that's a good thing! Summer dresses are bringing colors to life with print stories. Tribal accents (Graham and Spencer Spiral Print Dress) tell the wild tales, flowing florals (Sea Pleated Front Strapless Dress) are skip along daydreamy, painterly brushstrokes (La Rok Jungle Mini Dress) and color blocked geo patterns (M Missoni Halter Dress) are gallery inspired conversation starters. Whatever story you're drawn to, prints add texture, energy and personality to all the summer colors and fabrics!

More guys should wear leather jackets. They are classy and rugged, for the badass guy's guy who'll take a lady out to a nice dinner. I think of James Dean, Marlon Brando, Clint Eastwood, and all the old boys that my mom and I gushed over when I was growing up. That started my love affair with leather jackets, in particular men's aviator and bomber styles! Leather jackets never go out of style. They are definitely one of the few things that get better with age, and something that you should always have one of.
Talking about things that get better with age, my all time favorite guy—Indiana Jones—is always saving the world in an awesome Belstaff leather jacket. I can't wait to see him again in Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull opening night! If you're looking for me on Thursday night, I'll be at the very front of the line. And, I'll be wearing my S.W.O.R.D leather jacket as a tribute to Indy!

Ok, we know you're all thinking about the Idol finale, and how can you not? We'll be watching too! For sure, one of the biggest highlights this year was a guest appearance by the UK diva, soon to be diva of the universe. Remember when Leona Lewis showed up and absolutely brought the house down with her Mimi-esq, can-I-get-a-witness live performance of "Bleeding Love"? Well, there's a fashion trend that received tons of runway play and is just starting to set the summer scene on fire. Make room on your top 10 list for color bleeding and dip-dying, a.k.a. ombre and tie-dye!
Every summer is a summer of love as far as we're concerned. Colorful, easy and breezy boho is just what we had in mind for the sunny days ahead. Besides going perfectly with denim (Velvet Selita Top with denim shorts!), ombre and tie-dye lighten up drapey dresses and body-conscious pieces. In soft colors or bright candy pops, ombre and tie-dye are light and fun alternatives to white. Or, you can wear it in white with Young Fabulous and Broke's Tie Dye Roxy Dress. For you dark and brooding types that just want us to turn the lights down on this Splendid Small Ombre Stripe T-shirt, don't turn the dial! Grey Ant's edgier interpretation in this Pyramid Top is your David Cook-ed rocker version of the ombre and tie-dye trend.
Another reason we love ombre and tie-dye is that they open up your accessory options to just about everything you've been dying to unveil. That shade making brimmed hat, the nautical striped beach tote (Boyy Summer Leo Tote), organic necklace (Hovey Lee Coral Island Necklace), and Havaianas, it's all working! You're ready for some fun in the sun aren't you?

In the heat of summer, coats and jackets tend to turn into pumpkins—pieces you just end up towing around like luggage. A more hands-free, practical and seasonally friendly layering piece is the cardigan. Not the woolly knits from fall, but the light and wispy (even sheer) silk, rayon, modal, bamboo, supima and organic cotton variety.
Several designers are showing their most interesting interpretations of spring and summer trends through the lightweight cardigan. Draping and body conscious sculpted silhouette are both showcased in this V Asymmetrical Cardigan from Collection K designer Sharon Wauchob. Plastic Island does Avant Casual well in this long, lightly deconstructed Raglan Sleeve Cardigan. Here's a few more summer cardigans worth a look.

Lover is a vintage style collection that infuses a bit of drama inspired by music, art and movies. Each collection tells a story with "a narrative and central character" according to Aussie founders Susien Chong and Nic Briand.
For Spring 2008, Lover takes blissfully romantic silhouettes and rocks them out with a little Hendrix riff in a collection titled Electric Ladyland (after the 1968 album from The Jimi Hendrix Experience). Lover is girly and sexy, and must-haves like the New Mexico Bodice Top tells that story perfectly.

We're going to stop talking about summer like it's right around the corner because it feels like it's already here! If you waited to get your summer shorts, the heat is on now. For every pair of pants in your wardrobe, there's a cool shorts option. It's too hot for your acid wash jeans, so go with the Citizens of Humanity Sunset Denim Shorts. Skinny denim can get uncomfortable fast in the heat, but if you're determined to pull together your Avant Casual look, go with Blank's Skinny Jean Shorts. They come in a cool candy color (Grass) that's perfect for spring and summer! BB Dakota even does a high-rise short, and distressed denim shorts come courtesy of True Religion.

The heat. The humidity. All it takes is one scorching day caught in long pants to get you shopping seriously for shorts. This isn't just a surfer thing either. You can do Avant Casual in Helmut Lang's Crunch Poplin Back Pocket Shorts. Long, classic, Bermuda, board shorts, however you like to wear them, get your legs some air conditioning.

Despite the best efforts of the extremely bike unfriendly, respect-my-authoritay building management goon squad at 303 2nd Street, the Tobi team recognized Bike to Work Day by riding ours to work on a day where the mercury hit 94 degrees! For most of us, every day is Bike to Work Day, but it was nice to see some new faces in the caravan.
Plaid is the most versatile trend going this spring. You can take the same plaid and dress it up for drinks, or keep it down low and laid back. From ska and flannel inspired checkers to Ivy League grids, there's an inclusive range of styles within the plaid trend, accommodating edgy, California casual, and preppy tastes alike.
The plaid trend also has the longest shelf life of all the spring trends. Even the brightest seasonal plaids can be extended and integrated into your cold weather wardrobe. When you buy plaid you're buying it to wear all year. But hey, it's still spring and summer is knocking! Hit the pool party in plaid shorts!

It's 94 degrees out today, is your skin ready? A common misperception of skin prone to the summer breakout is that it needs to be dried up to clear blemishes. Au contraire, the sun is already doing a great job of drying out your skin. What you really need is more moisture! Ironically, when the skin is over dried—a result of harsh cleansing, over exfoliation, too much medication—it begins to overproduce sebum (the skin's natural oil) to compensate, thus further clogging pores and leaving you susceptible to more breakouts. To break this cycle, start using a light moisturizer with SPF, for UV protection, to get your thirsty skin the moisture it desperately needs. Not all exfoliation is bad. Just the right amount helps slough off dead cells, so your skin can fully absorb the moisture you give it.
Even if you don't suffer from the occasional blemish, be sure to protect your skin from the intense summer sun with a good sunscreen and replenish with a light moisturizer (with SPF) every day. This applies to guys too!
