Inside Look: Riding High
| I've always been fascinated by skater boys. It's that nonchalant, bedhead, no one to impress look in baggy shirts and chunky skate shoes that I've always thought was super cool. Doing all those tricks—backslide noseblunt, crailtap noseslide—with such a tiny piece of wood, I still don't know how they pull it off. I wanted to be a skater girl myself, until that day I almost rode off a bridge into a gorge (wearing my jinco pants)! I just like to watch these days, but I'm still a fan, and my fascination with skater boys hasn't waned. I actually married one! He's not skating much anymore because of achy knees (we're getting old!), but he was pretty good in his heyday, when everyone on campus knew him as "Skaterdan." |
