Hopefully, you were able to get mom something nice this year. Of course, all moms will tell you that the best gift is spending time with you. If you aren't able to give mom a hug in person, don't forget to give her a call to let her know how much you appreciate her today, and always. Mom, you were our very first stylist in life, and through love and inspiration we'll always be reflections of you.

You've had this spring event on your calendar for months, and the ensemble was picked out weeks ago. Candy color blue coat is a go. Big stripe skirt is on. Now, make the accessories work around the centerpieces.

We love the light, neutral clutch—the contrast pops the vibrant blue instead of distracting from it. It's cute but still very evening elegant. The retro glam print skirt is just asking for a touch of something shiny. Top it off with the ring of the moment, the bar ring. Lauren Ramirez does a few sterling silver styles if gold isn't your thing.

How do you describe a collection that grabs all the hot trends from the European runways and makes them more approachable and everyday? "My new favorite" works! Designer Anna Son's collection delivers casual chic versions of all the looks we covet in glossies but can't do because of pricing or inaccessible fits. We like to think of Plastic Island as an accessibly priced conversion of runway to everyday. Lots of prints, candy colors, drape detailing and a very original origami take on the bow trend.

We have the perfect answer for those indecisive outfit days. The romper! A.k.a., jumper, shortsuit, onesie, the romper is the chic, sophisticated summer alternative to the plain old short and tank combo. It can also be a sexy dress up option. Add a statement belt, sun hat, glam shades, knockout heels or strappy gladiators and just like that, the world is your cabana! The shortsuit is great for long legs, but you don't have to be a stork to look hot in summer rompers! The romper is definitely something that looks much better on you than on the hanger. Give this trend a shot, you'll be pleasantly surprised.

When you jump from a career in finance to fashion design, there must have been a serious epiphany while checking the ticker. Sean Monahan gave up picking stocks for portfolios and took up picking fabrics for Sea, his collection of sophisticated but cute and easy-to-wear dresses. Monahan describes Sea as “Vibrant, spontaneous and comfortable clothes that the customer will want to live in." His retro inspired dresses are adorable, with precision pleating and darting throughout. It all makes for detailing that's right on trend for spring.

Before launching Rhys Dwfen, Los Angeles based designer Julie Kwon was the head knit guru for Vince's sweater division. While Vince is mass appeal and loved for simple but luxe everyday basics, Rhys Dwfen has a more endearing quality. Rhys Dwfen is just as easy to wear, but it's a collection you'll fall in love with, clothes that should and do, in the words of Kwon, "make impressions more memorable." She describes the Rhys Dwfen woman as "discriminating but never fussy...appreciates the pairing of simplicity and polished charm."

For Spring 2008, the Rhys Dwfen collection takes vintage silhouettes and adds a little something from the flower market. Kwon uses unique floral appliques that add a timeless charm to her retro chic dresses.

Eternal Sunshine: The Yellow Trend

Some people shy away from yellow because they think they can't "pull it off." We've always believed that colors are more about disposition than your inherited skin tone. If you're happy, energetic, optimistic, enthusiastic, hopeful, in a great mood, yellow will look incredible on you! From lemon yellow to burnt mustard, the color of sunshine is just the thing to brighten up spring and summer. Even on the cloudiest day, yellow will put a smile on your face and everyone around you!

You can ease into this color trend. If neck to hem yellow is too bold for you, add a little splash via accessories like a clutch, shades or a cocktail ring. Yellow flip flops are another upbeat spring option. Styling yellow is easy because it's great with black, white, grey, and every shade of indigo denim you own!

For Spring 2008, Madison Marcus designers Kristina Aquino and Jessica Sturnam created a collection of playful silk frocks for the urban princess who likes easy to wear sophistication. Light and ethereal, these floaty tops and dresses are feminine with an understated sex appeal. Shirring at the neckline, elegant draping and volume details add the designers' signatures.

Our favorite piece is the Diaphonous Layered Sleeveless Top. This sweet chiffon trapeze top comes in a tropical coral "Flame" and a milky blue "Pacific" that are both dreamy takes on spring's Candy Colors trend.
