Don’t call it a comeback—Clae’s been here for a few years now. Or go ahead if you must because Clae did disappear on us for a while there. Co-founders Sung Choi and Derek Galkin introduced their brand of “athleisure” footwear in 2001, melding sneaker comfort with refined design for the most crucial casual shoes around. After winning the Sportswear International Fashion Award for Best Men’s Footwear Collection in 2003, Clae went on a three-year hiatus. Our feet thank them for returning.
Quality design and a fresh vision combine to yield understated, versatile sneakers. Whether we’re stomping around town or simply kicking back, Clae is what we want on our feet. We hope they’re here to stay.
