Best known for its edgy SoHo boutique, Opening Ceremony has gained fame as a fashion-forward shopping destination. With its name loosely based on the Olympics, the store focuses on a different country each year, bringing a selection of its best designers’ collections in, while maintaining a covetable collection of domestic designers’ wares. Co-founders and designers Humberto Leon and Carol Lim realized they didn’t want to spend money on other labels’ basics when they could make their own. Since the line’s inception, their clothing has evolved to include a range of exciting foundation pieces with a twist.

With full collections for men and women, this season concentrates on wool coats, clean plaids, versatile denim, and unpretentious dresses. And we hear that actress and style icon Chloe Sevigny will soon release a standout collection with Opening Ceremony.
