What’s sharper than a slick leather jacket? How about an exquisite Italian leather collection called S.W.O.R.D.? Continuing a 100-year-plus family tradition of working in the leather industry, brothers Matteo and Giacomo have hewn a covetable line of leather jackets of only the finest skins. Their artisan touch is of the utmost importance—all pieces are handmade, hand-washed and hand-dyed in Italy to yield the richest, most buttery leather jackets we’ve put on our backs.
S.W.O.R.D. earns its name in honor of the brothers’ grandfather who participated in the invasion at Normandy during World War II. The British army gave each beach a code name, and the one their grandfather landed on was S.W.O.R.D. Matteo and Giacomo’s fusion of traditional styles with contemporary fit and detail is quite the remarkable salute. Their grandfather must be proud. And we’re starting to doubt the whole notion of the pen being mightier than the sword—well, almost.
