We don’t think we’ll ever get tired of ultrasoft, laid-back knitwear, but we do tire of the same old designs and the same old boring cotton blends. Fortunately, Doie has arrived at the perfect time. Utilizing bamboo jersey in each piece, designer Sara Kirsner’s knitwear offers the comfort of loungewear and the polish of her Parsons education with an eco-friendly foundation.
Kirsner chose bamboo as the basis for her knitwear because not only can it be made into a plush fabric, but it is sustainable, biodegradable, and naturally breathable, keeping its wearer cooler in warm weather and warmer when the temperatures dip. This wonder grass is also anti-microbial, meaning that it will remain free of odors longer than the average fabric.
Inspired by her fashion icon, Sara Kirsner named her line Doie after her stylish grandmother. Her grandmother must be one classy dame because Doie pieces are classics in the making. With Asian-inspired silk jersey trim and elegant cuts, Doie has revived our passion for comfortable yet fashionable knits. Thank you, Grandma!
