about the designer
With a history of powerful and stylish women before us, we can pay tribute by continuing this tradition of fusing strength of character with chic expression. Kate and Kass helps us demonstrate this sentiment beautifully. Designer Anya Teresse showcases her skill for drawing from the playful style of the ‘60s and ‘70s and creating clothing that incorporates modern-day comfort. It’s no surprise that she deftly accomplishes this feat, with a combined education at Parsons School of Design in Paris and Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. She also sharpened her vision while working as Assistant Costume Designer on films like Art School Confidential and Friends with Money.
The Kate and Kass collection is inspired by female icons like Gloria Steinem, Jackie O and Jane Fonda and films like Rosemary’s Baby and Two for the Road, while this season’s styles are named after admirable women such as Eve Ensler and Sylvia Plath. It’s as if we’re walking in their clothes, and the relaxed shapes make the swagger so simple.
