about the designer
In the September issue of The Block, designer Carla Knapp (New York via Manitoba) decribes her Mischen line: "Fall was really about inheriting your Parisian gradma's closet. Our colour palette was very French and fanciful." Thanks grandma! If our granny was this on it we wouldn't have to shop for anything new. Mischen is German for "to mix," and the cocktails for fall stir vintage and modern. Mischen's retro polish infuses classic cues from from the '20s through the '50s into comptemporary silhouettes. Before starting Mischen, Knapp designed for Liz Claiborne and Jill Stuart before becoming creative director at Paper Denim and Cloth.
